General questions

  • What's the difference between cloud and desktop accounting software?

    To use desktop accounting software, you must install it on your computer or server. All the data relating to your accounts is also stored on your computer, subject to back-up procedures. Cloud accounting software runs on the internet and there's nothing to install on your computer. To access the software, you visit a website and sign in with a username and password, which means you can use cloud accounting software from virtually any computer, most tablets and smart phones, anywhere you have an internet connection.

  • Do I need to know anything about accounting to use Xero software?

    Xero is easy to use for non-accountants and offer an amazing support structure through the availability of online videos through Xero central. Official courses and online certifications are also available. If you get stuck, please feel free to give BVSA a call.

  • What about a support team?

    We are here to help you during working hours. However Xero has their own dedicated support teams available 24/7, 365 days a year.
